The first few days!

Let’s roll it back to December 8th, 2023. This day was HUGE for us. I took Millie in for her reverse progesterone testing… needless to say, I anticipated the visit to be quick and for them to give me an exact date for the scheduled C-section. It absolutely was a quick appointment but just minutes after the testing, the techs came out to tell me that Millie was very ready to have these puppies and it was GO TIME! No scheduling and coming back, no time to process or anything…. It was happening NOW! Haha, I was in SHOCK! I even asked the vet techs if it was normal to cry because, well I started crying right there. I ugly cried with nerves and excitement while I waited… And after a very short hour and a half, I came back to see the most beautiful NINE PUPPIES and Millie girl standing up and totally coherent. I was floored. I literally did not know what to expect. The vet said 6+… but I sure as heck was not expecting 9! Lots of phone calls to family and friends and of course, social media to tell the news, and everyone was just as excited as I was!
We came right home from the vet without any idea of what to do… or how to do it.. just like parenting haha but, we settled in nicely, mama took to them well, and they latched easily. I guess you could say from day one they really were a dream litter! They have been easy, so loving and so fun since the moment I met them.
It was a lot of anxiety and learning and just going with the flow in these first few days! I’m tired… but my heart is so full!
Come back for more, we aren’t done updating!
